About Cris Cab
At just 25 years old, Cris Cab has accomplished more in the world of music than most artists ever dream of. He’s hit the top of the charts, won awards, collaborated with some of the biggest names in all of music and toured the world playing in arenas, festivals and clubs. And yet, he’s somehow still just getting started.
“I’ve released a lot of music already and have been fortunate enough to align myself with some amazing people to get my career off the ground. But I still feel like this is just the beginning,” says the Miami based artist.
Born to Cuban parents in one of North America’s hotspots for urban and latin music, Miami, Cris started fell in love with his craft at a very young age, getting easy inspiration and access to music, sounds and different flavors of rhythm in the streets of the city. It were his very first demos that he recorded at just 15 years of age that grabbed the attention of one of the most influential figures in pop culture, Pharrell Williams. Connect with an artist of his caliber changed Cris’ life forever. Blogs and websites such as Billboard and Perez Hilton began featuring the young talent at the same time, propelling his studio efforts which included a single featuring Wyclef Jean.
Actually, finding the right collaborators has been one of the keys to Cris’ success. As a protégé of Pharrell, Cris mastered his craft while working along-side one of the game’s brightest stars. Artists like Big Sean, Pitbull, Mike Posner and B.o.B would also contribute to Cab’s songs. In 2015, he even released a re-edition of Sting’s famous “Englishman In New York” which found its way onto the charts.
However, it was the 2014 single “Liar Liar” which catapulted Cris into the limelight. Pharrell helped writing the song with Cris and was featured on it. The song became an international smash, peaking at #9 on the Worldwide Top 40 Airplay Chart, going as high as #1 in France and Israel, #2 in Germany and #3 in Italy and Holland. The record was certified Gold in Germany, Switzerland and Platinum in Italy. Meanwhile, the video for the song would go on to accumulate close to 60 million YouTube views and the Spotify streams for it are now pushing 50 million.
On top of the hectic recording schedule Cris has kept over the past few years, he’s also stayed busy on the touring front sharing the stage with the likes of Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Lorde, and more. He was also the opening act on Pharrell’s “Dear G.I.R.L.” tour hitting arenas all throughout Europe and played at Governor’s Ball in his homeland of America. On the night of French President Emmanuel Macron’s victory in 2017, Cris was invited by the new President as a special guest to perform in front of thousands of people at the world famous Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
All of this activity would lead to accolades like the MTV International Push Artist of the Month and drive the young artist to the #1 spot on Billboard / Twitter’s Emerging Artists Chart.
